In all the array of revision tales in the fund of Saratov Provincial Treasury Chamber, which are stored in the State Archive of the Saratov Region, tales of inhabitants of Irgiz Old Believer monasteries, dated June-July 1795, with several additions made in 1798 year, were identified. These sources refer to the beginning of the flourishing of Irgiz monasteries as a new powerful center of Old Believers (“New Athos”), long before their conversion to the same faith, and therefore are of considerable interest to historians. Being the earliest surviving documents containing lists of Irgiz monks and nuns, often with their lay names, as well as lists of novices and laymen, accompanied by brief biographical and genealogical information, these materials are a valuable additional source for studying the history and stratigraphy of Old Believers. The data from these tales make it possible to develop conclusions of the researchers of the past and correct information about the time of the foundation of Irgiz Old Believer monasteries.
