This article publishes the texts and abstracts of the reports given by the participants of the round table dedicated to the 120th anniversary of V. N. Lossky (1903–1958), which took place on June 13, 2023, as part of the scientific and educational project of the St. Petersburg Theological Academy “Byzantine Cabinet”. The article examines the life path and sources of the formation of V. N. Lossky’s scientific interests in the context of the mission he assumed in emigration to bear witness to Orthodoxy in the West. Particular attention is paid to his aspirations to revive “Holy France” and the ancient Western church tradition of the era of Christian Europe before the fall of Latinism. Some paradoxes of the mutual influence of the works of the Russian Orthodox theologian and French Catholic thought are noted. Lossky’s theological achievements are analyzed: the presentation of the concept of the human person, based on the triadological and Christological dogmas; interpretation of the Areopagitica in the context of the methodological principles of true theology proposed by him; disclosure of the trinitarian aspect of ecclesiology and the existential aspect in Byzantine theology. Certain controversial theses in his religious and philosophical heritage are indicated. The practical — ascetic — focus of V. N. Lossky’s works and the relevance of their further study are emphasized.
