The article is dedicated to organizational-and-methodical bases of a results estimation of education system modernization in Russia. The role of target programs in branch state regulation is exposed. The methods of the results estimation of modernization is analyzed, the comparative characteristic of target programs indicators is given. Information-and-analytical representation of results is adduced, and problem questions about the results estimation of the Federal target program of a development of education for 2006 2010 are revealed
