Radiation therapy of inoperable peripheral non-small cell lung cancer with single daily fraction of 3Gy or 4Gy, 5 fractions per week, up to total dose 60Gy (EQD2 72-84Gy, calculated using linear-quadratic model with using α/β=3) to the primary tumor and up to 39Gy (EQD2 46,8Gy) to the regional lymphnodes did not cause severe toxicity in case of limitation of planning treatment volume and did not impaired efficiency of radiation therapy in comparison with the control arm (single daily fraction 3Gy, 5 fractions per week, up to total dose 45Gy (EQD2 54Gy) to the primary tumor and up to 39-45Gy (EQD2 46,8-54Gy). 5 year long-term local control was achieved in a half of the patients which were treated using the mentioned regimen of fractionation due to escalation of total dose by 20-40%. Smaller number of fractions and shorter total treatment time in comparison with traditional fractionation are saving cost of treatment.
