The results of the production use of black-and-white cows in the herds of the Oryol region

When breeding dairy cattle, great importance is given to the results of reproduction. The article analyzes the results of the production use of cows in breeding herds of the Oryol region. The research was carried out in the period from 2017 to 2021 in JSC Agrofirma Mtsenskaya, CJSC Kurakinskoe, JSC APKh Krasnaya Zvezda of the Orel region. The average blood density for the Holstein breed in these farms at the beginning of 2017 was 59-65%, as of 01.01.2021 - 85-87%. The average length of the service period was observed in the herds - from 100-101 to 155-156 days in different breeding years. There is no clear tendency to decrease the duration of the service period. The dry-hardy period in different years of the production use of cows, limits from 50-51 to 60-70 days are traced. The yield of live calves in the studied farms ranges from 71 to 97 heads. This confirms that in the case of necessary zoo-technical, technological and veterinary measures, this indicator and the overall reproductive qualities can be improved.
