Results of sunflower breeding on resistance to broomrape (Orobanche cumana Will) in Don region

There were given results of long-term researches (1925-2009) on sunflower breeding on resistance to broomrape in Don Region. More virulent population of Orobance Cumana Will was revealed in southern-west part of Rostov region. The recom-mendations on lowering of broomrape harmfulness in commercial sunflower sowings are offered.
