At present, there are various designs of coulters for row packing, a large number of rollers with different parameters, shapes of the working surface are used. However, coulter and roller designs are not effective in some regions for soils in other regions. Therefore, the issues of the effectiveness of row-by-row rolling of crops with minimal tillage and rational design of the roller, providing high-quality seed planting and optimal conditions for plant growth and development, in relation to individual climatic zones require extensive experimental verification. In Buryatia, one of the important benefits of the roll is the necessary contact of the seeds with the soil, especially the light mechanical composition, and the retention of soil moisture. On the other hand, it reduces the probability of wind erosion. The purpose of the study is to substantiate the need for row rolling.
