Results of the comparative analysis of the structure of mental disorders in pupils of social protection institutions and students of secondary schools

Objective. To study the frequency and structure of mental disorders in pupils of institutions of social protection (ISP), depending on the presence/absence of family upbringing; conduct the comparative analysis of the frequency of detected mental disorders in pupils of ISP and secondary schools. Method. The clinical-psychopathological method was used, including examinations by a psychiatrist and the use of a semi-structured interview to identify signs of post-traumatic stress in children, developed by A.I. Shchepina, A.V. Makarchuk (2004). The basis for studying the age-specifics of mental disorders was taken as the periodization of mental development generally accepted in Russian age-specific psychology by D.B. Elkonin. Results. The data obtained indicated the significant prevalence of the frequency of mental non-psychotic disorders among pupils of institutions of social protection, while in children and adolescents of secondary schools these disorders were less common and were in most cases subclinical in nature...
