The results of the use-wear analysis of stone tools coming from the UpperPalaeolithic site known as the Chygai rock shelter in the Gubs River Gorge (KrasnodarRegion, Mostovskoy District) provided an opportunity to identify the main types of economic activities carried out by its ancient inhabitants. Functional groups of the tools, which were found at the site and are estimated in percentages, demonstrate the entirespectrum of occupations ranging from hunting and processing of killed animals to making of tools from organic materials (bones/antler, wood)and treatment of hides and skins.Based on the data obtained, the site can be indicatively characterized as a non-specializedcamp with a full cycle of production activity. Remains, supposedly, of organic origin onthe surface of the stone tools have direct parallels with organic remains in Dvoinaya Caveand require follow-up analyses.
