The risks of digitalization of school education (based on Astrakhan teachers survey)

The paper studies the potential risks that can be caused by the digitalization of school education. To this end, a sociological research was carried out using a qualitative technique (focus group interviews). The analysis of the obtained data allowed the author to identify seven groups of risks which are as following: social, psychological, health risks, informational, organizational and methodological as well as risks of education quality lowering and ethical-existential risks. Besides, a mind map of the Astrakhan teachers’ opinions was constructed, which visualized information on the existing risks of digitalization of school education and showed the relationships between them. The data obtained as a result of the research also constitute an information base for hypothesizing and tools constructing for quantitative research on this topic planned further on.
