Aim: the paper aims to analyze the new conditions of student self-isolation associated with the Covid-19 epidemic. Materials and methods. The paper is based on the theoretical analysis of domestic and foreign publications in the field of education with the use of information technologies over the past ten years and statistical data about morbidity and mortality of chronic non-communicable diseases (CNID) in Russia for the same period. Results. The features of distance learning are considered. The role of risk factors in the development of CNID, including cardiovascular diseases, is indicated.
