The present article defines an issue of searching for the folk motives in a futuristic poetical text. The search is mostly carried out at the metric level of a poem. The analysis of the structure of rhymes is taken into account, as in the poetry of the Futurists rhyme and metric system, which are typical for folk poetry, have at various times been the subject of pastiche. Observations upon the texts led us to a conclusion that in the analyzed works by Velimir Khlebnikov the elements of the embryonic rhymes typical of a Russian epic bylina, as well as some features of rhyming, which appear in a chastushka, can be identified. The texts by Alexei Kruchenykh which are subject to the analysis, it is possible, in turn, to identify the metric elements corresponding to the structure of such folklore genres, as a plach (weeping) or a song of lamentation.
