The role of audit in managing financial and economic activities of enterprises

In the context of the digitalization of the economy, economic entities are increasingly interested in the completeness, accuracy, and reliability of information reflecting their financial and economic activities throughout the reporting period. This information is accumulated and compiled into accounting (financial) statements, which serve as the basis for determining economic performance indicators and making management decisions to improve enterprise operations. This article examines the role of auditing in creating a reliable information base on the financial condition of enterprises. The importance and organization of accounting as the primary source of information are determined. The role of auditing in its high-quality implementation and subsequent maintenance is revealed. It is noted that in today's business environment, auditing can significantly assist in the formation of relevant information, allowing enterprises to avoid the risks of non-payment and enhance their image for the development of a sustainable business. Its potential for managing enterprise operations and making informed management decisions is considered.
