Тhe role and value of symbols in the texts of song folklore (on the material of the Buryat folk songs)

The phenomenon of a symbol is one of the results of human cultural activity. It is a special sign through which the reality was once comprehended and now it serves as a key to understanding. Therefore, the authors approached the issue of the role and values of symbols in the texts on the example of the Buryat folk songs which are recorded by S.C. Mansheeva during the folklore expeditions to the Аginsk district of the Transbaikal Region.
