Role of innovative changes in competitive strengthening of the state economy

The article studies competition and competitiveness of the national economy from some perspectives, states typical features of the conception, and discusses role of innovations and innovative changes. The authors review main approaches to assessment and comparison of the economies’ competitiveness, and give countries classification according their development level.
