The Role of Additional Education System in the Socialization Process of Children and Youth in the Russian Federation

The article evaluates the current state of the system of additional education for children and youth in the Russian Federation based on the analysis of statistical data and research by domestic scholars. Additional education is considered both as part of the general education system and as an important social institution aimed at developing personality, talents, and abilities, as well as compensating for deficiencies in family upbringing and general education. The study highlights key trends in the field, including the availability of programs for children with disabilities, the demand for different areas of extracurricular education, and the role of state and private organiza-tions in its implementation. Particular attention is paid to the personnel potential of the industry, including the socio-demographic characteristics of teachers. The findings indicate an increasing interest in additional education, dis-parities in accessibility between urban and rural areas, and the need to address staff shortages in the future.
