The role of the historical and cultural heritage of Rostov region in the developing the creative industries

This article examines the significance of the historical and cultural heritage in the creative industries of Rostov region, the subjects of the South of Russia. The author considers the issues of opportunities, potential and prospects for the development of this segment in the region. The characteristic of the terminology is presented, a brief review of works on the study of creative industries (including in the regions), the specifics of their development through the use of historical and cultural resources of the territories are revealed. The main sources for the development of the creative industries of Rostov region include the factory of artistic faience of Semikarakorsk ceramics, as the only one in the region in the Federal list of enterprises of folk arts and crafts; and two festivals-reenactments of historical events - "The Siege of Azov" and "Defense of Taganrog". This production and festivals are significant for the history and culture of the region, reflect the traditions and flavor of local life, serve as the basis for the development of tourism activities, the direction of tourist flows and various events. The study emphasizes that creative industries influence the social and cultural characteristics and image of the territory. As a result of the work, a conclusion was made about the prospects for the further development of creative industries at the regional level and the need to support them as one of the drivers of Rostov region.
