The role of the self-concept in the harmonization of personal image

The article focuses on the methods of applying the self-concept in the process of personal image harmonization. The concept of "I-concept" in the article is considered as a representation of a person about himself, influencing the creation of an image, which is understood as the interdependence of the internal and external image of a person. The interrelation of the personal image from the existing or emerging Self-concept is presented. The choice of exercises for determining the Self-concept of personality aimed at the diagnosis, formation, control and prediction of personal image is justified. The role of the Self-concept in the harmonization of a person's self-image and visual components of appearance is indicated. The self-concept of a person in the article is positioned as a tool for forming the image of a person who provides communication taking into account professional activity, using the example of enterprise clients (women) in the service industry. The identification of this toolkit was carried out on the basis of empirical research. Observation and experiment were chosen as the research methodology. The observation was carried out among clients (no.=107), based on the results of the work of image makers (no.=9) (using exercises) for 12 months by purposefully fixing information about the objects of image-making (clients) by the author of the article. The experiment consisted in the author's selection of special exercises that define the Self-concept of personality. The obtained results were used by the author to identify the indicators of "internal" and "external" images in the objects of the image, which are used in the future for their harmonization. The observations and experiment made it possible to determine effective exercises that form a person's self-image and influence the choice of image components (worldview, physicality, facial expressions, gestures, timbre of voice, gait, wardrobe). The results of the observation were manifested in determining the relationship of the Self-concept, visualization of appearance and behavioral stereotypes. It is determined that the harmonization of these parameters can affect the correction of psychoemotional states of the individual in certain social and professional situations. According to the results of the study, the Self-concept is defined as one of the effective tools for creating a personal image. It is revealed that this toolkit (a set of exercises) needs to be introduced into the activities of the image maker, taking into account the stages of his work on the formation of the client's image. Based on the results of the observation, recommendations for the introduction of exercises are presented, taking into account the stage of harmonization of the external and internal image of a person for the formation of a stable image.
