The role of linguists in secondary vocational education

The article examines the teaching of a foreign language in terms of educational institution of secondary vocational education. The attention is paid necessity to know a foreign language as part of the general culture of the person. The relation between foreign language proficiency and successful employment is traced. Particular attention is paid to the need necessity of motivating the students to work independently. The author concludes that foreign language learning has a positive effect on cognitive skills.
