The role of the word superiority effect in the productivity of verbal information recognition

The article describes an experimental study conducted to study the interaction of attention and working memory in solving a cognitive task related to visual search and the verbal information processing. As a result of an experimental study, it was revealed that in the conditions of solving a cognitive task, words are perceived automatically, without the participation of focused object attention, and are stored in working memory for a short period of time in the form of a spatially organized image without semantic processing. It was concluded that the search for verbal information is not more productive due to the word superiority effect.
