In this article the author proves topicality and necessity of developed critical thinking in a university teacher as a key indicator of his efficient activity and also as a condition of successful digitalization of the higher education. In this work necessity and some opportunities of critical thinking formation in modern students by means of university educational process are highlighted and grounded.
