The role of radiotherapy in the treatment of the trachea adenoid cystic carcinoma

The results of radical radiotherapy of the 40 patients trachea Adenoid Cystic carcinoma, are presented. Single focal dose was 2 Gy, total focal dose (TFD) were brought to 64-70 Gy irradiation rhythm - daily, 5 times a week. Most patients were irradiated with 2 - 3-week break after the TFD 30 Gy. Complete tumor resorption after treatment was noted in 19 patients (47,5%), and partially - in 20 patients ( 50%). Radiation esophagitis of varying severity was determined in 100% of cases. Tracheoesophageal fistula was formed in 1 patient (2.5%). Shortly after the end of treatment in 3 patients died. 5 and 10-year survival rates were respectively - 75,0% and 55,0%.
