The role of portfolios in the competences formation of middle school students in the “Kyrgyz literature” subject

The article examines the identification of new approaches to the teaching of Kyrgyz literature in secondary schools in connection with the adoption of the new subject standard. Suggestions are that the literature teacher needs to take into account the particularities of each student's study of a work of fiction: the pace of reading, the nature of perception through imagination, the level of understanding of the artistic image, the ability to aesthetically assimilate a literary work, acting in such a way as to form students' reading competence. In this regard, the portfolio replenished in the literature lesson is of particular importance. Through it, the teacher will be able to ensure that students systematically work with artistic texts, so that they will learn to understand their imagery and will be able to learn the behavioral models and values necessary for real life. In addition, the portfolio is individualized, which provides support for person-centered learning and the competency-based approach together. The conclusion is that using the portfolio is a methodologically promising technique in the teaching of Kyrgyz literature to schoolchildren.
