The role of professionally-oriented reading in terms of linguistic competence of graduates

The aim of this article is to review professionally-oriented reading as a prevailing part of language competence of foreign graduates. A classification of integral parts of professionally-oriented reading, covering reading strategy in general and reading techniques in particular is provided below. Besides, the article presents a classification of types of reading with detailed description of assignments for each of them.
