The role of prognostic factors in radiotherapy of primary malignant brain gliomas third grade (Grade III)

The database center in December 2010 recorded 537 patients with primary brain tumors of various origins. Moreover, in 98 patients with verified third-grade tumor, received adjuvant radiotherapy or chemoradiotherapy, were studied in detail long-term results and identified several factors that influence their effectiveness. The data obtained by the application of the regime mean dose fractionation during radical radiotherapy showed no deterioration in overall survival of patients compared with those in the application of traditional (classical) modes of radiation in this patient. In addition, the level of Karnofsky less than 70% was the determining parameter, which can be considered for practical purposes to predict outcomes. Among other things, the size of the tumor, as well as patients age and to have data on displacement of midline structures of the brain also were significant informative features that affect the performance of their overall survival
