The article points out the significance of scientific maintenance of anti-drug policy of interstate formations capable to apply special mechanisms of response to drug aggression, to consolidate and coordinate common efforts to neutralize drug threats. The author presents arguments in favour of the choice of Siberian Law Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation as a subject of providing anti-drug activities of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), maintaining and strengthening the representative and mutually beneficial relations aimed at developing optimal measures of the preventive impact on drug trafficking in the region of responsibility of this international organization. Forms of conducting researches aimed at providing scientific support for such activities are set forth. Special attention is drawn to the fact that the development of analytical materials, publication activity, conducting international conferences and workshops, writing dissertations, as well as consultative assistance provided by authoritative experts in assessing sub-regional drug situation and drug safety in the Central Asian region contribute to the scientific maintenance of CSTO anti-drug activities. It is concluded that further scientific work in the chosen direction will gain a clear practice-oriented character and reflect the ways of further consolidation of anti-drug policy in the region of responsibility of the Member States of the CSTO.
