Modern processes necessitate research attention to the search for new directions in human social development and management of this process. The article analyzes the system-value thinking, considered not only as a form of cognitive activity, but also as an integration process, which allows to take into account different connections between elements, to predict the mutual influence of factors, to identify existing patterns, within the system on an axiological basis. It is argued that system-value thinking is a person’s ability to typologize different processes, the skill of forming a holistic vision of a certain situation, the ability to use cognitive methods and evaluate the decisions made. In practical terms, the following functions of system-value thinking have been identified: worldview, socio-axiological, managerial, integrative.
