The role of the modern educational technologies in the development of system thinking of university students

Specifics of system thinking of university students are discussed. Results of the empirical research are shown to verify the supposition that if the student knows individual thinking peculiarities is will help him/her to chose training profile, project his/her individual study plan, and the university will create an educational environment where each student with due account of his/her abilities will set and achieve his/her educational goals due to the use of modern educational technologies focused on thinking development. It is supposed that the best results in system thinking development can be achieved in«liberal arts» universities that provide a student with a possibility to combine several education profiles, structure the curriculum individually and widen the space of individual development.
