The role of the suffix -ism in the word formation of neologisms in the Japanese language

One of the word-formation models of neologisms in the modern Japanese language are words with the affixal suffixation -ism. The article presents factors of the word formation process in comparison of three language systems in historical retrospect. Trends in the development of word formation in the Japanese language have been identified, reflecting the emerging needs of society in consolidating a new conceptual apparatus in the sphere of social relations, engineering and technology, science and culture. The analysis of the publication material is based on data from foreign authors with the aim of high-quality training of orientalist teachers and specialists in the field of oriental languages and culture.
