Role of traditions in forming the humanistic foundation of education

The article examines the topical issues of modern education. It presents a philosophical analysis of the processes taking place in this sphere and related to the formation of a new system of values. Humanism as one of the leading principles not only of traditional education, but also of future, still nascent educational models is investigated as the central concept. The article emphasized that there are different approaches to understanding the role and importance of traditional values in the formation of the fundamental principles of education in the XXI century. Using the materials it is concluded that humanism as one of the fundamental principles of the educational process, although criticized, but not denied completely, it continues to transform, adapting to new information technology and forming the basis for the axiological system of the digital society. Its potential has not yet been exhausted.
