The article examines the role of traditional Chinese cultural values in the management system of modern national enterprises. The study is based on the structural and functional approach and is aimed at identifying the mechanisms of the embeddedness of cultural values into organizational processes. It demonstrates that traditional priorities do not disappear under the conditions of market economy and globalization, but endure in a latent yet persistent form via relational, institutional, adaptive and psychological mechanisms. Special attention is devoted to the interaction between formal and informal management structures, as well as to the culturally contingent nature of management practices. The major levels of cultural embeddedness are identified, and their interconnections within the organizational functioning of modern Chinese enterprises are shown. It is concluded that traditional values function not as a static cultural element, but as a dynamic foundation of organizational behavior in modern society – one that is crucial for the internal logic of Chinese enterprise management and illustrative for scholarly practice.
