The role of the educational text in the process of teaching Russian as a foreign language

The article raises the question of the importance of using the educational text in Russian as a foreign language classes with first-year students. The main requirements that must be met by the educational texts used in classes with foreign students are listed. The main functions of the educational text are outlined, some forms of pre-text and post-text tasks are presented when learning Russian as a foreign language.
