This article examines the impact of housing conditions on students’ psychological comfort and academic motivation. The authors present aerobatic results from a sociological study, including in-depth interviews with ten students living in dormitories of the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation. It was found that comfortable living conditions and a positive social-psychological atmosphere contribute to increased motivation to study and improved academic performance. The study emphasizes the need for a comprehensive approach to addressing low comfort levels in dormitories, including both renovation of the material base and creation of a supportive psychological environment. Practical recommendations were developed for universities to enhance comfort and safety in student dormitories, thereby strengthening motivation and academic success among students.
