Russian tourism is both scientifically and practically a large-scale field of empirical research, including a variety of semantic types and social practices of spatial mobility, based on the main segments: internal, outbound and inbound tourism. In the context of international tourism, Russia occupies an important niche and taking into account geopolitical realities, seeks to use new opportunities, overcoming social, economic and political restrictions. The article analyzes social practices of tourism in Russia's interaction with a wide range of countries with which friendly relations have been established and constructively maintained based on mutually beneficial partnerships in a number of areas and industries where an important place belongs to international tourism. Tourism develops where travelers are guaranteed safety. It is a key characteristic of any social practice, because just in conditions of peaceful existence tourism can develop in all its diversity, bringing people a sense of the fullness and harmony of life, getting out of routine and everyday life, replenishing the resources of personal development and finding the meaning of life and activities. The authors explore the possibilities of developing international tourism with the active participation of Russia as a system of tourist and recreational destinations, and consider ways to overcome the existing barriers in the methodological transition from the "here and now" strategy to strategic foresight. The options for working with objective restrictions that impede the positive dynamics of the development of international tourism are systematized in the article.
