The article presents the results of the study concerning the reputation of Russian authorities on the basis of a mass survey of the population of regions of the Russian Federation Central Federal District, which allows to reveal the dependence of the content of the authorities' reputation on the value attitude of citizens to it, reflecting the level of their identification (self-identification) with the authorities. An empirically based conclusion is made that for all groups of respondents, regardless of their attitude to the Russian authorities (“my power”, “power alien to me”, “power indifferent to me”), the same characteristics that create its reputation (honesty, responsibility, justice, concern for the nation, its defense, engagement with the people, understanding the needs and aspirations of the people, responsiveness), with a certain emphasis on the priority of their choice, are the most significant.
