The article is a review of the anthology “Smenovekhovstvo: pro et contra”, published in the book series “Russian Way”, which since 1994 has been published by the F. M. Dostoevsky Russian Christian Academy for Humanities. The compilers of the anthology are well-known researchers, specialists in the history of Russian conservatism P. N. Bazanov and A. V. Repnikov. The anthology is dedicated to the phenomenon of Smenovekhovstvo (change of milestones) - an ideological movement that arose after the publication of the collection “Change of Milestones” in Prague in 1921. The review proves that the scientific novelty of this work lies in the comprehensive consideration of the phenomenon of the Smenovekhist movement. The reviewer sees its structure as logical and driven by the goals of the anthology: the authors introduce the reader to the views of the Smenovekhists themselves (including the so-called “right Smenovekhist” N. V. Ustryalov), and then characterize the controversy that arose around the publication of this collection. At the same time, the compilers of the anthology provide the reader with the opportunity to become familiar with the positions of both supporters and opponents of the position of the Smenovekhists. The reviewer comes to the conclusion that the work of P. N. Bazanov and A. V. Repnikov makes a significant contribution to the understanding of the Smenovekhovstvo phenomenon - a noticeable trend in the social thought of Russia in the 1920s.
