The Russian fashion as an identity marker in the first quarter of the XX century

The article is devoted to the birth of the “Russian fashion” in the context of social and cultural transformations of the first decades of the 20th century. Fashion is presented as a sociocultural phenomenon, and a form of representation of cultural identity. The author reveals the influence of the folk tradition in the formation of the fashion trends in the national costume of the test period and defines the dominant position of the Russian style of European fashion. Popular trend in the national fashion of the early ХХ century is shown by the example of Russian art Nouveau fashion, avant-garde tendencies of the Silver age, the fashionable costume of the futurists and constructivists. Russian fashion of this period are presented as agents of social and cultural ideas, the translator and the indicator of the ideals of the era, as a kind of mirror of the national culture, which reflected social and cultural metamorphoses of the first decades of the twentieth century. The article fashion is positioned as a complex culture text, method demonstrations will take era, its aesthetic, philosophical, and social and cultural contexts. Special attention is paid to the development of fashion trends as manifestations of cultural self-determination of the people of Russia in a situation of crisis of identity.
