The article examines the views of famous figures of Russian conservatism of the late XIX - early XX century on the era of Emperor Alexander III. In their minds, the Peacemaker Tsar was an ideal ruler who could magnify the Russian Empire, turn it into a great and prosperous power that preserved traditional values based on Orthodoxy, who did not allow a revolutionary explosion in the country. They also paid attention to the economic and foreign policy successes of the reign. At the same time, certain aspects of the politics of Alexander III (flirting with liberals in power structures, the rapid ruin of the nobility and the accompanying enrichment of the bourgeoisie, rapprochement with Republican France) were subjected to some criticism by the rights, however, very soft, resembling, rather, advice or requests to the monarch to correct this politics.
