Introduction. The problem of studying the self-actualization of the personality of the cadets — future specialists of extreme profile, is a relevant scientific and practical task, since its characteristics influence the effectiveness of professional activities connected with rescuing people in emergency situations. Materials and Methods. In the context of training cadets at the university of fire-technical profile on a sample population of homogeneous group of 69 students, a diagnosis of self-actualization of personality was established. The study used the A. V. Lazukin method adapted by N. F. Kalina „Self-Actualization of Personality“ and projective low-structured method of J. Nuttin to determine the structure of value-meaning sphere of personality. An authors’ questionnaire was also developed to define criteria for self-education. The study was conducted in February–June, 2024. Results and Discussion. Cadets' self-actualization is considered as one of the most important aspects of their professional development. Self-actualization of the person is a conscious process of development of students and formation of their stable platform for satisfaction from their own achievements — first in educational activities, then in professional and later — in their life as a whole. The structure of the valuemeaning sphere was defined, in which a comparative analysis revealed certain differences. Overall, it is a multicomponent system, namely: learning; meeting basic needs; meeting growth needs. The survey conducted on professional self-education of senior and junior cadets showed the importance of self-education precisely for senior cadets. Training at the Academy of State Fire Service of the Russian EMERCOM is an opportunity for them to show themselves, realize their interests, form inclinations to future professional activities. Conclusions. The hierarchy of values and meanings of junior and senior cadets was revealed. The most important thing for the cadets is to get a job and find their place in life. The questionnaire conducted helped to study the specifics, forms and methods of cadets’ self-education. This helps them realize their abilities and interests.
