The study considers self-attitude as a sustainable component of tolerant consciousness, reveals its structure and specific nature, demonstrates its impact on personal behavior when facing a difficult situation and establishing interpersonal relationships. The author identifies that self-attitude reflects the emotional attitude of actors to themselves and makes it possible to assess properly their spiritual and physical condition, personal attitude towards the external world and other people. The research demonstrates that self-attitude regulates the tolerant and intolerant human behavior in critical situations and ways to resolve conflicts and problems. The author notes that the development of self-attitude is affected by not only emotional sufferings, values-based and social attitudes but also social and ethnic contexts, cultural peculiarities, mode of life and customs of a person while growing up. Self-attitude is formed during the life of a person, and it becomes a permanent component of the tolerant consciousness. It is concluded that self-attitude of a person is formed in early childhood and primarily based on child-friendly environment provided by adults and important people who respect, love a child and emphasize the importance of his personality.
