The article discusses the value of health and the analysis of socio-demographic factors of the population of the Kyrgyz Republic. Great importance is paid to the analysis of the self-preserving behavior of the population as a factor influencing the state of health and life expectancy and the preservation of human capital for the state. In the context of modern society of socio-economic and scientific and technological progress, and with significant changes in value orientations, the issue of preserving health is important. Health is becoming more meaningful in demand as human and social capital. Human health is influenced by a huge number of different factors, among which it is necessary to single out, first of all, the lifestyle of a person as "a stable way of human life that has developed in specific socio-environmental conditions". The end result of the self-preserving behavior of the population is one or another level of the state of health of the population and the main indicators of public health such as fertility, mortality, infant mortality, life expectancy, etc. The current social policy of the Kyrgyz Republic is focused primarily on improving the quality and life expectancy of the population, including by strengthening reproductive health, increasing the period of active longevity and reducing morbidity and mortality. These areas should become key in the formation of sustainable demographic development of the country. The issue of health and the formation of a person's self-preserving behavior is unthinkable without the development of the concept of a culture of health and self-preservation in society, which presupposes interconnected systematic work at all levels of social organization and the involvement of various social institutions of the state in this process.
