Self-consciousness of the media and specificity in vocabulary, phonetics, grammar (to the justification of the concept of "language-idiom")

The article deals with the problem of identifying idioms in the general array of modern languages. The aspect of the terminological definition is reduced to several questions, and one of them, to which the article is devoted, is formulated as follows: what should be so special in a natural language to be called an "idiom". From the point of view of the author, in order to call a language an "idiom", it is necessary to find something special, original, exotic in it. It can be a certain category (grammatical, lexico-grammatical), word-formation or syntactic model, any other linguistic phenomenon. The fact is emphasized that the sought-for specificity can be created not by “whole” categories (phenomena, models), but by individual manifestations of such a system. As illustrations, some features of the idiomatic order in the Koibal dialect of the Khakass language are indicated.
