Semantics of verbal predicates of perception in descriptive and narrative texts

Бесплатный доступ

The article is devoted to the problem of functioning of the semantic feature of perceptivity in verbal predicates in descriptive and narrative texts. The study of the semantics of verbal predicates in a text is impossible without taking into account the feature of perceptivity, which refers to the use of certain linguistic means that indicate the representation of observed phenomena. Perceptivity is the main semantic component of a literary text, which is actualized in verbs that function in the text. The article studies the features of verbal predicates of perception, considers static verbs in a descriptive text, as well as verbs of active perception denoting specific actions in a narrative text. We have carried out a semantic analysis of some verbs of active and passive perception using examples from literary texts, revealed the features of functioning of perception in verbal predicates.
