Semantics of the term “military law”

The article discusses the problems of semantics of the term military law. Attention is drawn to the fact that the so-called “broad”, “multi-valued” view of the understanding of military law does not allow us to unambiguously determine its definition, which cannot but affect the effectiveness of the legal regulation of public relations in the military sphere. It is concluded that the scientific community should develop a unified approach to understanding military law. This will make it possible to effectively regulate public relations and solve the problems of defense, state and public security of society and the state, ensure its sovereignty, and achieve the goals of the country’s domestic and foreign policy in the military sphere.
