Family and generic memory as a resource for forming a family culture of a person

Family issues are one of the most important and popular sociology research topics. In connection with the transformation processes taking place in modern society and in the institution of the family, the family culture is undergoing changes. The paper deals with the family and generic memory as one of the resources for formation of family culture. It is noted that a person in the process of communication with members of his family gains important family experience, conducts reflection, realizing events related to the past, and gives his value-semantic evaluation of events, accepting or rejecting the knowledge and experience of previous generations. The authors emphasize the significant role of family traditions, through which the importance of family, children, love, care, and mutual understanding can be instilled in the younger generation, thereby strengthening the family culture as a whole.
