The study of the culture of volunteerism at present seems relevant in the light of society’s growing need for broad-based support for socially significant events and for providing selfless assistance to those in need. Based on the theory of N. Luhmann and P.A. Kropotkin, the author considered the “culture of volunteerism”. Family participation in this social movement is seen as a positive factor in fostering a culture of volunteerism and as a means of educating and socializing children in an atmosphere of mutual assistance and tolerance. At the same time, family volunteering is understood as a social phenomenon that strengthens intergenerational bonds, preserves traditions, and spreads the values of volunteerism in society. The regional aspect of family volunteering is analyzed on the example of the formation of this type of activity in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), its features are considered on the basis of the theory of social ecology. The author examined regional laws and regulations, the history of volunteerism, and identified the potential for the development of family volunteering in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).
