Semiotic codes of audio description as translation

The article presents the results of the first stage of an experiment researching the possibility of creating age-oriented audio description. Audio description is treated as a type of intersemiotic translation. The research focuses on the differences in perception of visual semiotic codes by people of different ages. Eye-tracking methods were used to define the differences. The results were applied to make a list of priorities which can further be applied to identifying linguistic means preferable for certain age groups.
