"The family of muses" in the theatre of Tennessee Williams (the problem of interaction of literature and other arts)

This article explores the problem of interaction between Literature and other arts. On the concrete artistic material of the plays of Tennessee Williams, the phenomen of the “new plastic theatre” is comprehended, for the original poetics, the use of aesthetic achievements - painting, sculpture, music, dance, pantomime, cinema, with the purpose of the most complete and deep comprehension of the essence of the socio-philosophical and moral-psychological problems of his plays. The special scientific novelty of the research is to develop the concept of lyric-poetic and dramatic interaction in the writer’s works in theoretical and artistic-practical aspects: to prove the innovative effectiveness of synthesizing different kinds of Literature and art forms for the fruitful development of the theatre culture of the USA of XX-th century.
