Sergey Nikolaevich Mareev - scientist and educator

The article summarizes the biography of Sergey Mareev - friend and follower of the outstanding Soviet philosopher Evald Ilyenkov. The authors characterize his creative path, which began with an analysis of the “Capital” method, his acquaintance and cooperation with Ilyenkov. The feature of the main directions of his research in the Soviet and post-Soviet period is given, where works on the history of philosophical and economic thought, the logic and methodology of science played an important role. The role of Mareev in the development of Ilyenkov’s ideas, the consolidation of his followers, and the annual Ilyenkov readings is shown. Particular attention is paid to the integrity of his personality, in which critical thinking was combined with devotion to the ideals of classical culture. The participation of this philosopher in the scientific and educational life of the Moscow State Institute of Culture for more than 30 years is considered separately.
