In the context of the transition from an industrial economy to a knowledge economy, the requirements for the education system as an integrator of knowledge and the teacher as their carrier are increasing. The situation is exacerbated by the presence of turbulence (a high level of uncertainty and unpredictability) in the external environment. In such a situation, the efforts of the teacher and a specific educational organization for self-development become insufficient. The knowledge economy places high demands on the quality of education, defined by the Law of the Russian Federation “On Education” as “a comprehensive characteristic of educational activities and training of a student, expressing the degree of their compliance with federal state educational standards, educational standards, federal state requirements and (or) the needs of a physical or legal the person in whose interests the educational activity is carried out”. As can be seen from the definition, the quality of education implies the compliance of the graduate with both the competency model and the requirements of the individual striving to become competitive in the labor market, and the requirements of employers who want to spend a minimum amount of time and resources on the adaptation of a young (and not only) specialist. Having considered the activities of a professional educational organization within the framework of the process approach and accepting the above arguments as “inputs” and “outputs” of the educational process (the main process), we note the need for a new level of its implementation, including that associated with a new level of support and management processes. We include the availability of advanced information technologies as providing the opportunity to organize advanced training in the format of a network community, which allows you to overcome the limitations of a particular individual / educational organization and get a synergistic effect; to managerial - knowledge management as a key element of the main process, which will help bring it to a new level of implementation. So, online communities are already becoming an integral part of the professional life of teachers, the next stage of development should be their transformation into a self-learning organization.
